US retail store

Result Never miss a customer enquiry again.

This US retail store was losing customers to its own phone line. When the team was busy with people in the store or the shop was closed, calls went straight to voicemail — and most callers never left a message. They simply hung up and tried somewhere else. The same thing happened online: people landed on the website with a question, found no quick way to ask it, and left. Real demand was coming in every day, but a large share of it was quietly slipping away before anyone ever spoke to the customer.

I built a system that catches enquiries on every channel and answers them straight away. An AI voice agent now picks up the calls the team can't get to: it greets the caller, answers common questions, and captures their details and reason for calling so nothing is lost. On the website I added a chatbot that handles visitor questions in real time and turns interested visitors into named leads. To feed the top of the funnel, I ran Meta lead-form ads so prospects could submit their details in a couple of taps without leaving the platform. Every enquiry — phone, website, or ad — lands in one place for the team to follow up.

The change was immediate and easy to feel. Enquiries that used to disappear into voicemail or a closed tab now get a response. The voice agent answers when the team can't, the chatbot replies the moment someone asks, and the Meta ads keep a steady flow of new leads coming in. Instead of wondering how many customers they'd lost, the owner now sees every enquiry captured and waiting, with the context needed to call back and close.

The takeaway is simple. For a busy retail business, the leak usually isn't a lack of interest — it's the gap between an enquiry coming in and someone being free to answer it. By putting AI on the phone and the website and pairing it with lead-form ads, I closed that gap so the store stops paying for demand it can't catch. It's a practical example of using AI not as a gimmick but as a reliable front line that makes sure no customer goes unanswered.
